HANGRY&ANGRY HISTORY

The cat plush toys thrown away like trash are the main characters of the story. With a distinctive difference from the bright and happy pop characters, HANGRY&ANGRY is the anti-character brand with an extreme, cruel, and grotesque image.

In 2004, “HANGRY&ANGRY” was derived from the h.NAOTO cosplay and character-style brand “CHANNEL H” as a “gro-kawa” (grotesque & cute) character brand.

Up-and-coming illustrator GASHICON is in charge of the producing of HANGRY&ANGRY’s characters and comics.  With regular publications in the visual-kei music magazines, the comic successfully developed the unique world of HANGRY&ANGRY.  The participation in the hit movie “Death Note” added even more popularity to the brand.

In 2008, the HANGRY&ANGRY shop opened in Osaka’s Ura-Harajuku.

Then, as a collaboration project with music, the rock character unit “HANGRY&ANGRY Future” was formed.  With the popular former Morning Musume. members Hitomi Yoshizawa and Rika Ishikawa, the unit made its shocking debut.

In 2009, a fashion show event was held in Los Angeles, America, followed by the introduction of the collaborative product line produced for a popular game-maker’s crane game machines.

HANGRY&ANGRY is not only aiming to expand its character goods, it also aims to present its characteristic collections as a fashion brand.

HANGRY — A very punkish girl.  She seems wild and barbaric, but she is surprisingly sensitive and weak, and therefore is always being bullied by ANGRY!

ANGRY — A girl who loves gothic things.  She seems very neat and cute but is very violent and cruel.  She loves to eat and bully others!!

Up till 2009 the story is set in the “Present – HANGRY&ANGRY PRESENT.” 

The synopsis of the story is…

On the Hill of Killme, there is the graveyard for plush dolls.  It is the hellish resting place for tragic, miserable, dirty plush dolls thrown away by selfish humans.

The Castle of Vice is occupied by Lord Cut and Duke Stitch (Cut & Stitch).  Every night, they collect plush dolls from the Hill of Killme, and with the reconstructive surgeries of the devil, they revive the dolls as brutal destructive weapons.

Whenever HANGRY is bullied, she accumulates negative energy, and when the negative energy exceeds the limiter, there will be a nuclear explosion powerful enough to destroy the Earth in an instant…  ANGRY is fated with the role of the bully, paired up with HANGRY, who cannot escape the bullying!  What will happen to the crisis of the Earth’s destruction!?

Then, the inevitable tragedy!  The Earth has been mercilessly annihilated…

Tens of thousands of years after the big explosion, Earth has become a terrifying hell rampant with monsters of nuclear radiation.

Will there be a savior?!  In 2010, the curtains to the new legend open!

The HANGRY&ANGRY LEGEND starts!!

If music coursing through your body makes you groove, the you must come to the AM2 Dance and bust a move!  This summer¹s most anticipated anime, Japanese music and manga event will have DJ¹s that will be spinning the latest and greatest in house, trance, mash-up, top 40, hip-hop and much more on the turntables.  Dance the night away to your favorite jams beginning the night before (July 30, 2011) the official first day (July 1, 2011) of the convention!  More info and attendee registration can be found at www.am2con.org

³AM2 welcomes the amazing line up of DJs to our convention this year,² states AM2 representative Chase Wang, ³Attendees will be able to dance the night away from a full day of events, concerts, exhibits and more!²

If this name sound familiar to you it¹s because he¹s played at conventions all across the nation. This year featured at KawaiiKon, Fanime, Sac Anime, AWA and many other conventions. You may also know his as Gaia Online¹s Emcee. DJ Helsing is known for mixing all Vocal styles of music from Vocal Trance all the way to Vocal Industrial.

Funkmaster Miko

Raised in the echoing hills of the Hidden Scratch village, Funkmaster Miko’s background remains a mystery. His sets range from ballroom dancing to 80s and New-wave, yet he favors spinning Pop, Funk, and Hip-Hop.  Funkmaster Miko is a member of the Random DJs.
